Denver Children's Home Christmas Charity!!!

This year I have decided that instead of spoiling all my friends with lavish gifts I am going to help donate to the Denver Children's Home wish list!!!

The Denver Children's Home's mission is to provide a therapeutic, safe place for emotionally distressed children, adolescents and their families to heal and grow. Unfortunately, government grants they receive isn't even close to being enough to care for growing children's needs. Surprisingly enough the government only gives $86 to each child for an entire lifetime's worth of necessities.

For more info please go to www.denverchildrenshome.org

The Denver Children's Home is located at:
Denver Children's Home
1501 Albion Street
Denver, Colorado 80220
Phone: 303-399-4890; 877-895-4890
Main Fax: 303-399-9846
info@denverchildrenshome.org

If anyone is interested in donating feel free to contact me about the attached "wish list" which can also be found on the website or if you can go directly to the site and make a monetary donation. Either way, think of the smiling face of a child knowing you've made a difference.

Also if anyone would like to email me directly about this feel free to at: terra@theterrasmith.com

Halloween 09 Madness!!!

This year's Halloween was a little different for me! We did something that we've never done before.......stay at home and hand out candy to trick or treaters!!!!! Wade and I got all dressed up, decorated the yard, and gave away TONS of candy to kiddys! It was so much fun. Growing up in a really tiny town, me and Wade realized that we had never ever handed out candy, even as kids.
So we decided to do it up big this year! After taking piccys with kids and giving away all our candy of course we couldnt resist going out to see live music. We went out to Cervantes to watch the Motet play Sly and the Family Stone covers. The place was packed. We were surrounded by lots of great friends. All though it wasn't our usual Halloween Panic show, we still had a blast. Wade dressed up as Jackie Moon and I dressed up as Magic Mushroom Alice!!! xoxo

Kandy Halloween @ the Playboy Mansion!!!!

Last weekend me and Wade went to the Kandy Halloween Party at the Playboy Mansion. The Kandy Halloween Party is sponsored by the Karma Foundation (www.thekarmafoundation.org). We had such an amazing time!!! We hung out with Hef, and his gorgeous girlfriends Crystal Harris, Karissa and Kristina Shannon, and Melissa Taylor. Flo Rida sang a set at midnight. Everyone at the party was dressed for the occasion. I dressed up as a hippie and Wade dressed up as Jackie Moon. It was so much fun seeing everyone in full costume.

The mansion was insanely decorated! From the moment we got off the shuttle we were led thru haunted trails and frightened by ghouls and goblins. The "slip n slide" hill was transformed into a total cemetery. Once we made our way to the backyard we were greeted by midget Frankensteins and lovely painted ladies with shoots!
After partying for hours with Hef and the girls me and Wade went to check out the Mansion's Haunted House!!! I was truly scared to death! The haunted house was amazing! It's crazy to think they built that on the tennis courts.
At midnight everyone went to watch Flo Rida hit the stage.

Another fabulous weekend at the Playboy Mansion!!!!! Can't wait to go back and do it all over again! xoxo

Beauty Tip of the Day:

My favorite tip of all, HUGE SUNGLASSES!!!!! Not only do they look hot and accessorize any outfit but they prevent you from squinting and getting those dreaded wrinkly eyes. The bigger the better!!! lol. The more skin they cover up, the more skin they protect! Any one who knows me personally knows I'm obsessed with huge designer sunglasses. I wear them day and night. It's also a great way to cover up bare eyes when you just don't have time to put on makeup.

Beauty is skin deep???

Ok, so let's start at the beginning...
The most important step to beauty is taking care of your skin! I really can't stress this enough. It may seem pretty simple and basic but the damage we do to our skin lasts a lifetime.

My advice and daily regimen...

Moisturize- lotion, lotion, lotion, then put on more lotion. Not only does it moisturize your skin, but also forms a barrier to protect your skin from everyday elements such as wind, dust, and sun. Finding a moisturizer with anti-aging ingredients can benefit anyone at any age, you can never start too young. (products I use... Oil of Olay Body Lotion, Strivectin SD for face, neck, chest, and hands)

Vitamin E Oil- easiest to apply in the shower, personally I apply it 2-3 times per day. The reason I specifically say Vitamin E oil is that it's simply better for your skin. The Vitamin E helps to slowly repair minor scars, scratches, and imperfections in the skin.

Sunscreen- ALWAYS use sunscreen!!!! The most common cause of wrinkles is sun damage. Stay out of the sun, and most of all stay out of tanning beds. If you really want to be tan, fake it, use tanning sprays or lotions. A good affordable one is from Victoria Secret. (products I use.....SPF 100, Lorac Tantilizer bronzer is an absolute fave!)

Exfoliate- It's important to exfoliate daily to get rid of dead flakey skin. Exfoliating will leave you skin feeling soft and youthful. Now here's my favorite beauty secret of all...I use coffee grounds to exfoliate my body while in the shower. The coffee grinds not only exfoliate extremely well but the caffeine actually helps minimize cellulite. If you check out the ingredients on most expensive cellulite creams you'll notice one thing in common, they all contain some variation of caffeine. After one use you will immediately notice firmer skin. The easiest way to use daily, pour coffee into your hand or mix in a small bowl with oil (baby oil, vitamin e oil, olive oil, etc) or body wash, apply using a circular motion over your entire body. Just be gentle if you decide to use on your face. For a more intense application, apply the coffee mixture thickly to your skin then wrap your skin in plastic wrap, leave on for about 20-30 minutes, then rinse. Afterwards apply lotion and enjoy smooth cellulite free skin! This is a process I always use right before photo shoots to have perfect skin. (products I use...Neutrogena Microdermabrasion kit on my face, coffee grounds)

Well that's it for now, a basic start to my series of beauty tips. You asked for it, so here you are! xoxo
